TOUR SURPRISE
While in Colmar, Daniela surprised us with a wine tasting just a couple blocks from the hotel. She considered it an opportunity to put our wine knowledge to the test, so the tastings were blind. It was a fun way to discuss the aromas, tastes, and textures of three bottles of wine, paired with cheese and various tapas like cured meats and tapenades.
Not all breakfasts

What's in a building?
|
Your Alsatian breakfast will be a little heartier than
your typical French breakfast, thanks to its German influences. You'll find an impressive array of meats, cheeses and cereal in addition to the usual choices. |
In Colmar's Old Town, every building must be a different color, by law. The colors represent the profession of the occupant; i.e. a green house was inhabited by a farmer. The timbered symbols represented other things: a diamond, wealth; a heart, fertility.
